Professional Positions
Throughout her career, Dr. Feerick has held a number of professional positions. Upon completion of her doctorate, she served as a Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD)/American Academy for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellow and then program officer at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, managing research programs in child cognitive, social, and affective development. While completing her post-doctoral respecialization program, Dr. Feerick worked as a senior research psychologist at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress of Uniformed Services University. Additionally, she has completed clinical training at a variety of settings including, but not limited to: the DC Child Advocacy Center, the DC Superior Court Child Guidance Clinic, the Family Center at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Howard University Counseling Center, and several private group practices including Psychological Assessment Solutions, Campbell Psychological Services, and the Wake Kendall Group PLLC.
Publications
Dr. Feerick has published research papers on adolescent development and the experience of child maltreatment. She is co-editor (with J. Knutson, P. Trickett, P., & S. Flanzer) of Child Abuse and Neglect: Definitions, Classifications and a Framework for Research (2006) and (with G. Silverman) of Children Exposed to Violence (2006). She also has more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
